Top 5 Favorite Nail Polishes!

Yayy! I’m so excited to talk about something different from makeup. So today I’m gonna talk about my favorite nail polishes. I have no included gel on purpose, that will be for another day. I have rated the nail polishes based of of long wearing, colors, consistency, overall just amazing nail polishes.

1. OPI

This is my all time favorite nail polish brand……I know I know, you’re probably not surprised. This nail polish is so long lasting, so pigmented and soooo smooth to apply. It can be found in just about any nail salon across american and it will be my forever favorite. The color above is my favorite color polish of all time- big apple red. It is just so classic and red nail polish never goes out of style. OPI is an amazing brand and always has the best trendy colors for every season.

OPI can be found at Ulta or Target for about $10.50

2. Essie

Obviously, another fan fave! My favorite thing about this nail polish brand is the colors. They have the funnest colors out of any brand! They have the best pinks and the best blues and the best purples! If you are in the mood for a fun bright different nail polish, Essie is the brand for you. I love so many of their colors that I literally struggled for a picture for you guys. I was planning on posting a picture of my favorite color from each brand I love then I got to Essie…impossible. For me personally, the wear time isn’t that great. It lasts on me about 2/3 days before it starts to chip. But don’t let that deter you- I have plenty of friends who say this nail polish lasts a long time. Either way, still one of my favorite brands.

Essie can be found at Target or Ulta for about $9

3. Cina Glaze

China Glaze is my OG fave. I use to wear these bright vibrant colors all the time. This is similar to OPI in the wear time. This is a great long wearing nail polish with fun bright colors. The only bad thing I can say about this nail polish is the pigmentation. It definitely takes a few coats for this to cover. But again a great nail polish.

China Glaze can be found at Ulta or Sally Beauty Supply

4. Sally Hansen: Insta-Dri

Everyone needs to have at least 1 bottle of this in their collection. Do yourself a favor and go to the store and buy a color that goes with everything or that you could wear over and over again. Buy yourself a nude, light pink or even an everyday red. This is the perfect nail polish for a girl on the run! If you are anything like me…you will not leave the house without your toes painted. Every girl knows the feeling when you have limited time to get ready and your rushing around. You’re about to run out the door in 10 minutes when you look down and your toes aren’t painted…ughh!! Do not fear! This is where this guy comes in handy. When I say this nail polish completely dries in less than 30 seconds, I’m not even joking. So when you have 10 minutes before you have to leave slap this on your nails and you’re good to go. No, this isn’t the best quality nail polish and no it’s not going to last weeks on end. But I added it to faves list cuz it’s literally a life saver.

You can find Sally Hansen: Insta-Dri at Target for about $4

Love this nail polish solely for the purpose of the neons that they have. This color right here is literally what I wore everyday in college. The color is called beach cruiser and it is the perfect neon pink. The picture literally does no justice. The oranges, limes and yellows are fantastic. The only downfall is it deff takes a few coats. It isn’t very pigmented but the good news is it deff lasts a while.

You can find ORLY nail polish at Ulta for about $8.99

Please please please tell me your favorite nail polish brands and colors. I’m always looking for new colors and brands to try out!

until next time!

Favorite Product Friday- Beauty Blender

Beautyblender- the original

What is it?

A glorified cosmetic sponge

Where to purchase?

Why you need it?

Anyone who puts makeup on needs this product. I don’t care if you wear makeup 365 days a year or 1 day a year, you need this in your kit. This little guy has so many different uses. You can use it for applying foundation, concealer, contour, moisturizers even powders! Compared to other beauty sponges, this sponge does not suck up all your product. I bought this sponge about 5 years ago and when I tell you I have not used anything else to apply my foundation. Read the directions!!! Make sure you properly prep this sponge. If you wet the sponge properly and give it optimal drying time this will not suck up your foundation and it will leave you with a flawless finish.

Ashley Beth Tip*** Apply your foundation with a brush, like the Morphe m439 and pounce the beauty blender on after for a flawless, seamless, smooth look.

The Good

-amazing creamy formula

-best shades of red

-extremely pigmented

-obsessed with the velvet packaging

-shades blend very nicely

The Bad

-a lot of fallout

-I feel like I can’t use just this pallette

– I feel like there isn’t a lot of eyeshadow in each pan

I will buy this palette time and time again. This palette really inspires me to stray away from the norm. Everything from the mustardy browns to the deep pinky reds. The looks you can create with this palette is honestly endless.

***Ashley Beth tip: Go in with a very light hand! This eyeshadow tends to have a lot of fallout and is very deeply pigmented. When working with the reds I always go in very lightly. Remember you can always add more!

Top 5 Favorite Drugstore Products

Ahhhhhh!!! This was like torture for me to write this. There are so many different drug store products and tools that I am obsessed with . It was so hard for me to pick just 5! I narrowed my favorites down by products I use everyday or I have continually used for a long time. Alright, here we go!

  • L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation

This foundation is better than most high end designer foundations. This little gem is one of the best foundations on the market right now. Not only does it last all day into the night it does not separate on your face or oxidize to ca completely different color. This product is described as a “demi- matte” finish which is perfect for me. I love my skin to look glowy and slightly dewy so I’ve been hesitant to go for a matte foundation. This product is the perfect matte/dewy combination. My skin looks perfectly matte without looking dull or flat. My skin still feels hydrated and gives me that glowing look. Powders and cream contour layer perfectly over this foundation. I give it 5 stars!

Where to get it?

I get mine at either Target or Ulta but you can find this anywhere they sell L’Oreal

How much?

I’d say $11-12ish depending where you get it

  1. Ardell Demi Wispies Natural

These are my everyday lashes. They are a great price point for the quality of the last. You can use these lashes over and over and they hold up great. They have a little extra drama but at the same time they’re girly and perfect for an everyday look.

Where to get it?

I get mine at Target, Ulta, Sally Beauty Supply, Amazon

About $3.99 for a single pack or $11.99 for a 4 pack

  1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

There’s nothing I love more than a weightless, light, liquid concealer. This guy is everything and more. I tend to have a dry under eye and steer clear from creams, sticks, clay, thick concealers.  This concealer is hydrating and weightless. It feels like I’m not wearing anything. After applying my foundation I apply this concealer and gently blend it out with my beautyblender. This concealer doesn’t crease or fade away after a long day. This also works great as a highlighter in the lighter shades.

I get mine at either Target or Ulta but you can find this anywhere they sell Maybelline

  1. L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara

YESSSS!!! This mascara gives me life! This tiny delicate wand is perfect for the lower lashes. No, it will not give you volume but it will make every one of your lashes show. The formula of the mascara is great too. It’s not thick and will never dry out. I usually start my upper and lower lashes out by curling them and using this mascara. If I am not wearing fake lashes, I will finish my lashes off with a coat of either L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara…

Or Too Faced- Better Than Sex Mascara…

This will give you great volume and thickness to your lashes.

I get mine at either Target or Ulta but you can find this anywhere they sell L’Oreal

About $9.99

  1. Neutrogena- Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover

This is my OG drugstore makeup product. I’ve been religiously using this since I was just a baby in middle school. I’ve been loving this eye makeup remover since the day I started wearing makeup. This makeup remover takes off even the smokiest of eyes. I take a cotton round and in one swipe my eye makeup comes off. Neutrogena says it is oil free but it feels very oily on the skin and when you see it in the bottle you can see the separation. My usual routine is taking off is using this to take off my eye makeup first followed by washing my face with a facial cleanser, so this product works for me. I wouldn’t recommend using this and saying you’re good to go; I’d follow up with washing your whole face.

Eye Shadow Tuesday!

Welcome back everyone! My eye shadow we’re going to talk about today is Mac- Rule. This eye shadow is just one of those colors that can bring your basic eye look to the next level. My favorite way to use this eye shadow is as a finisher. Do your everyday browns/coppers/peach/nude look and at the end take a big fluffy brush and use Rule to blend out the crease.

Mac- Rule

Rule is a matte shadow and can be purchase in a pot or a pan here…

***Ashley Beth Tip: Pair Rule with shades of red for a flawless blended look
